In this post I want to highlight Alex Genadinik who is a relatively unknown singer-songwriter with a growing audience. I am highlighting Alex because he writes the lyrics in his songs from the heart and they are meant to connect with listeners on that wavelength, which is a very special moment when that happens through art.
Many of Alex’s songs contain beautiful metaphors and are written with a very poetic and introspective perspective. His musical influences are singer-songwriters like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Leonard Cohen so it’s no wonder that he writes songs that are introspective yet they are relatable songs because they often contain that slice of life that helps us recognize ourselves in different situations.
Perhaps that’s one of the things that makes music special – when a song may be about anything or anyone else, but we recognize parts of our lives in it. It’s like we are right there in the song and when we wake up from that daydream, we are singing along. It’s a special connection to have with a song and the musician, and why Alex began writing music in the first place.
He also recently self-published his own poetry book with songs to help people have the music really open up the lyrics and give them extra life and energy as people are reading the lyrics. It makes for a unique experience with a book because every poem in the book comes with a link to a song on YouTube so the reader can listen to the music while reading poetry. It’s a beautiful experience to have on your own or with a romantic partner, especially since Valentine’s Day is coming up.
In his book, half of the poems are Alex’s originals and half are his translations from the great Russian singer-songwriter Bulat Okudzhava. Okudzhava wrote beautiful and inspiring music. Alex says that Okudzhava’s style is similar to Bob Dylan or Leonard Cohen who are also great poets and Alex is excited to share his translation of Russian poetry into English to share it with an English-speaking audience who otherwise may not have a chance to experience that music and poetry.

In addition to music, Alex also runs a business in the Elearning space. He creates and sells online courses on Udemy. Here is a link to his Udemy course discounts. He also helps new Elearning entrepreneurs start their businesses by licensing his existing courses to Elearning companies so they can white label online courses to resell as their own.
