Q Nitty is an artist who is considered a master in his craft. He is a passionate maker of hip-hop music in various forms. With his rap approach, he explores diversity and supports his sentences with incredible melodies. Each of his tracks has a distinct and distinct feel to it. The most surprising aspect is how he artistically delivers his divergent lines and rap style in a modern hip-hop style with minimal effort.
This is evident in his June 2021 album Retaliation. Retaliation means counter-attack. The name complements the tunes in the album as the vigor in each song is felt from the very first second till the end of the track. Retaliation is small heaven of fourteen songs that gives you thirty-seven minutes of diverse hip-hop jams. The tracks are chill with the best basslines and drums.
‘Humble Mumble’ is an all-time favorite in the album. The jam features modern hip-hop hit-hats that give it the most vibrant feel of all time. It’s a slow hip-hop track and this tells how easy it is to jam to the track. It’s the type of music that you want playing in the background as you take your evening drive.
‘Aventador” is a track that I would highly recommend to most of us that love chanting to music. In just two minutes and nine seconds, the track leaves you with the urge to hit the repeat icon and that urge sure is difficult to resist. The rap alone is on another level and the words are clear enough that one would only need two listens before they sing along.
Chill is the ultimate definition of ‘Story’. This track is chill and artsy. Two seconds in and the lines drop. “Lemme tell you, I was starving, I was hungry, I was lonely…” After the first couple of lines, you can’t resist the impulse to keep listening. The rap is a good indicator of the professionalism and creativity invested in this jam.
Music is an art and Q Nitty has done a very good job of giving meaning to this statement. He treats each of the songs in Retaliation as a piece of art. Each song feels different but brings the hype at the end of the day. All the music in the album is professionally done making it listen-friendly. If you are that person that jams to music when working out, thirty-seven minutes of your workout have been ultimately covered by Retaliation.
