It’s an honor to be able to speak with you today.
Jazz : thank you. It’s an honor to speak with you as well.
Why don’t you tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?
Jazz: I’m Jazz Jenei (pronounced Jin-Nay). I’m 22 years old (going on 23). I’m a music artist, creator and entertainer from South Florida. I started writing songs at the age of 12 and producing at 18.
How did you end up where you are now?
Jazz: Just by honing my craft, investing in myself, and pushing myself to be the best artist I can be.
Have you always been interested in music?
Jazz: Absolutely. It’s been like this since I was a little kid. I would beat on pots and pans and pretended as if it was a drum set.
Congratulations on your most recent single “Red (For The Best)” how do you feel about your newfound success?
Jazz: Thank you. I’m glad about it. I feel blessed to be making a lot of progress but I still know that I have a long way to go.
In what ways do you come up with ideas? We know that starting a musical composition isn’t always easy. How do you get your creative juices flowing?
Jazz: Honestly, I just write about what’s on my heart or my mind at the time – things that I’ve experienced firsthand or what I observe going on in the world around me.
Can you see your finished product before you start?
Jazz: Not always. For the most part, the vision for the song becomes clearer as I work on it.
Does your music have a signature sound or style that you prefer to incorporate into your compositions?
Jazz: Hard drum kicks and spacey, futuristic sounds with a vintage feel to it.
What’s a little-known fact about you that might surprise people?
Jazz: I have a HUGE CD collection. I started collecting when I was 16, but I don’t know how many I have now because I stopped counting at 100.
Is there anything else you’d like to say before we wrap things up? Are there any words for your fans?
Jazz: Thank you to everyone that has supported and believed in me so far. I appreciate you all very much.
